"12 Rules for What", playing on Jordan Peterson logo

We are joined by Mike Makin-Waite, Burnley council officer responsible for race relations in the aftermath of the so-called Burnley ‘race riots’ in 2001 when the BNP gained council seats for the first time since 1993.

We discuss the causes and context of the disturbances in 2001, how the BNP was able to capitalise on white resentment for electoral success, the inital inadequacy of anti-fascist and labour party responses and more.
